Mish's sporting life started young — athletics in primary school, hockey, then Nippers and surfing at 15. Her love for ocean sport evolved into competitive stand-up paddleboarding, where she earned her South African colours and represented the nation at the 2015 ISA World Championships in Mexico. She placed 11th in the world in the 30 km long-distance division — without her own equipment.
That same year, she was studying for her matric. She missed a month of school, caught up independently, and still showed up on the world stage. It's the kind of story that tells you everything about who she is.
She later moved into MMA — and won her first fight. Consistency, she'll tell you, is the key.
