Danielle Dirksen

Sports Science · Rehabilitation · Open Water Swimmer · Somerset West, SA
Dani didn't become a great coach by reading textbooks alone. She became one by living the process — the early mornings, the self-doubt, the discipline of showing up when motivation runs dry. As a competitive open water swimmer selected for the Western Province team in the 5km event, she knows firsthand what it means to balance a demanding life with serious training. That experience lives in every programme she writes.
She holds a BSc and Honours in Sports Science, with certifications in nutrition, sports massage, and performance coaching. But what truly sets her apart isn't her credentials — it's her ability to meet people exactly where they are, and build them into something stronger.
„Keep going. The thoughts in your head are often the only barriers standing in your way — and once you push through them, they lose their power."

🦾 Rehab & Functional Strength

Dani specialises in helping people move again — after injury, after setbacks, after being told they can't. Her evidence-based approach rebuilds from the ground up, sustainably.

🌊 Shoulder & Swim Performance

Her swimming background gives her an edge few coaches have. Whether you're recovering from a shoulder injury or training for open water, she understands the mechanics intimately.

🎯 Core & Stability

Her clients call her the "core police" — and they say it with a smile. Because when your foundation is solid, everything else becomes possible.
One of her most defining moments as a coach: helping a stroke patient rebuild coordination and strength that carried him back into the water. Another: preparing a 60-year-old to swim the English Channel. These aren't performance stories — they're human stories. And that's exactly the kind of coaching Dani delivers.
Her philosophy is quietly radical: stop comparing yourself to others, stop comparing yourself to who you used to be. Just become the strongest version of you — on your terms, at your pace, with a coach who genuinely believes you're capable of more than you think.
